    Pure PVC resin has good electrical properties. The volume resistivity of rigid PVC products is very large, but it will gradually decrease with the incorporation of PVC colloidal plasticizer. The insulation of PVC plastics is reflected by parameters such as resistivity, dielectric constant, power factor, and breakdown voltage strength. Among them, volume resistance is used. Generally, the volume resistance varies greatly with the type of plasticizer. As the amount of plasticizer of PVC colloid increases, the insulation gradually decreases.

    Cold resistance is inversely proportional to electrical performance, and generally has poor cold resistance and good electrical properties. This is because the less polar plasticizer allows for greater freedom in the dipoles on the polymer chain, thereby increasing the electrical conductivity and electrical insulation. On the other hand, the PVC colloidal plasticizer with poor plasticizing efficiency in the intramolecular branch has better electrical properties. DOA will reduce the volume resistance of plastics. Chlorinated paraffin is a typical representative of insulating PVC colloidal plasticizer.

    The purity of the PVC rubber plasticizer is closely related to the electrical properties of the plastic compound, because the charged ionic substance easily moves in the plastic compound, and when the plasticizer contains ionic impurities, the electrical insulation property is remarkably lowered.
